4. PLANTING—WHERE WE EMBED OUR THOUGHTS AS SEEDS FOR THE FUTURE
The energy of Planting has been called seed energy, corn energy, lizard energy, frog energy, or iguana energy by various indigenous peoples. The Cherokee called it ahwisga, and the Maya called it kan. All of these names symbolize fertility and the power of growth. Seeds, once planted, take sustenance from other energies (the soil, the Sun, rain) to grow and bloom. Likewise, Planting energy incorporates previously expressed energies (those of initiation experienced in Being energy, the rhythm and pulse of duality experienced in Breathing energy, and the germination period experienced in Listening energy) to establish a pattern for growth. Planting energy demonstrates how working with the gifts of other energies is vital to our ability to express our own gifts.
People who carry this energy as part of their personalities are usually bright, sunny, and full of new ideas. They are active, dynamic, enthusiastic, and can be mischievous. They are also patient and dedicated to their families. Most are drawn to prosperity in some way and will likely never be hungry. Many have a desire to be in the public eye and have a magnetic quality that draws others to them—even when they want solitude. These people are different, and others notice their difference. They are networkers, quick to respond to opportunities and make contacts with people who can get a job done.
Those with Planting energy may get deeply involved in special interests. They enjoy learning about intricate topics such as philosophy, spirituality, or metaphysics and have enormous amounts of physical energy. Most love to travel, and sharing with others is a natural talent. Each place where their energy lands, a seed of possibility is planted. Their very lives seem to be fertile ground, and they inherently understand that the time for new ideas is now. Highly intuitive, those with Planting energy have powerful senses and often operate on their intuition rather than thinking about what comes next. Although they have great patience to perform existing routines, there’s still a strong desire to bring creative new possibilities into the world. They are loyal friends.
At the lower vibrations people with Planting energy may be immature, hyperreactive, and inflexible, finding compromise difficult—if not impossible. One of the biggest challenges for those with this energy is to follow through with their own ideas and not wait for the perfect time or place to pursue what their hearts dictate. They may vacillate between waiting for someone else to move forward or ignoring others altogether.
Higher vibrational aspects of Planting energy appear in those who have learned to channel their creative energy into projects, giving each project life. These people thrive on bringing new individual ideas into the world and watching them grow.
